Boarding

Special Requests/Additional Services:
Deworming & Vaccinations:
- Deworming and vaccination schedules will be posted in the barn ahead of time.
- Deworming will be done approximately every 8 weeks and billed on your monthly boarding invoice. We rotate Strongid, Safeguard, and Equimax respectively.
- Vaccinations/Coggins will be billed directly to you from the veterinarian.
Paddock Policies:
1) Boarding at W.H. consists of stall or pasture.
Turnout is in the mare or gelding field, which is signed off by the
boarder in the boarding agreement. Proper and adequate shelter,
water, and salt is provided – as is plentiful forage. Round bales
are provided in winter months as necessary.
2) Safety of the horses is our utmost concern, and proper management
and daily checks are made continuously for any lost shoes, lameness,
abrasions or cuts, etc… of all horses on the farm. W.H. also
monitors weight and overall health for the horses, and is in touch
with the boarders about any and all concerns.
4) To keep the paddocks healthy and growing year round, several will
be rested in turn on a rotating basis.
5) Paddocks will be used for injury “rest” or “lay-up” time as
necessary per each individual case up to a few days. If it is deemed
necessary by a veterinarian that your horse needs more than one week
paddock rest, there will be a daily/monthly charge for the paddock
use appropriate to length of time needed.
6) Paddocks used for training situations will be charged on a
daily/monthly basis as needed.
7) Paddocks used for quarantine, or initiating into the herds will
be handled by the management.
8) It will be mandatory that any paddocks used for the above reasons
will have to be rotated as to keep the integrity of the paddocks
healthy, as well as the horses safe. Three of the paddocks have
run-in shelters, and will be used accordingly in given weather
conditions. These decisions are to be made by the management.
9) Lay ups: Stall Board Plus $11/day, Paddock: Board Plus $6/day
10) The individual paddocks are not for private use or rent. They
are for emergencies, lay-ups, quarantines, and short term boarding
situations if available, to be determined and agreed upon by the
management.
